Peace with Spain was signed in February 1720. In late April its news arrived to the West Indies, so all the Navies got allied against the common foe – pirates, making their trade more difficult to survive. Which side are you on?
Be ye a pirate, a naval officer, a slave or a lady, you will find a place aboard one of our four ships or live on a paradise island. Men aboard any ship are strongly recommended as first characters, and civilians as secondary ones. No more female sailors are allowed.
We are not the usual sandboxy RPG, neither a narrative-driven one, but a story-focused writing community where each actively writing character can make a difference and an impact on the overall plot. We are writing collaboratively a coherent story with many sideplots aside of it. We also have guides to help you with the time setting, and are more influenced by historical events rather than following them by the history books!

They got upstairs, into the room he shared with Maribel, and he had the pleasant surprise to see that in the adjacent boudoir
there was everything needed for the shaving."Actually I am half English, half Spanish,"
he replied to Mora's man. "And I don't think I am the best to be asked about traditions of any country. Half of what I remember from having been a best man at a wedding a few months ago should have happened yesterday... if anybody had any idea it was to come,"
he laughed at his own impulsivity.
If he thought well, besides the Undertaker’s with Adriana and Baptiste’s and Carmen’s wedding party, there might have been a wedding back in Nassau, in his young years, perhaps a neighbour’s, he had assisted at, as he remembered only the sweets received with that opportunity. Then he was Angel’s best man, not knowing much of what he had to do, exactly how the two men by his side didn't know."Now it's the shaving. I hope between you two I wouldn't get any permanent scars,"
he winked. "I'm not a lady, so the getting dressed part is done. I will just change my shirt to a nicer one. Then we'll go all to church, to sign and receive the marriage certificate and to have the bridal wealth blessed. There you'll be needed too, to sign as witnesses on the certificate. Afterwards...just enjoy the party."
There might have been a few more details, but those were to be reminded during the party by those who knew better.

The rhythm of the gun shots in the air, the tambourine players, and the folk dancers, dressed in the traditional costumes of each part of France their ancestors had come from marked the ending of the traditional festivities known in French as entre la Saint Jean et la Saint Pierre
, the time when fields weren't worked and people partied. Saint Peter was the patron saint of fishermen, so they were the ones carrying, in a procession, the statue of the saint down to the waterfront, for the blessing of the waves. The fishermen's women and daughters hurled sprays of flowers into the sea.
Cass, Maribel and Darcy had witnessed this in the morning, together with Mora, Iseult, Carlin and Maire. They had arrived early, brought by a fishing ship, after having travelled by night.
It could have been seen as strange that Cass had thought of taking Darcy with them in what they could call a honeymoon voyage, but it was a deliberate choice. First and foremost, he was a pirate. Hopefully not one to be recognized, how Angel and Sol were, but a pirate nonetheless. Being accompanied not only by a woman, but by a woman and a child on the streets of Port de Paix was a better disguise than any other, giving the impression of an innocuous family man. Secondly, Darcy had never travelled out of Basse Terre and he knew she longed to. This was a good opportunity to show her another town in holidays.
Initially, when planning this, Darcy and Maribel were supposed to stick together and go see the town while Cass met Gaspard to finally give him the last part of his shares in his former pirate life – as the "Rover"
had been sold after the commotion with Sol's wound and just before the final coup which had been the stealing of the "Rising Sun"
. There had simply not been time to comply with Sol's last promise to Gaspard until now. However, after the discussion held two days ago between man and wife, Maribel had insisted that she wanted to talk to Gaspard too, so there were going to be all the three of them to meet him in the afternoon. He had agreed with Maribel, after a few minutes of thinking.
At the beginning, Cass had worried that he might be difficult to find, but once in town, Darcy had pointed to the posters
present in several places, showing him as a fencing instructor. But, again, this was a business to take care of in the afternoon. The procession was the event of the morning.

Place: - Aboard the "Rising Sun", in the open ocean, on the way to Belize
Leaning over the railing, Cass was watching the men weighing the anchor and sailing off the harbour. He had been waiting for a long time for this special expedition, hoping that they would catch the slavers and he'd learn Calista's whereabouts. He was ready to storm all brothels in a town to find his halfsister, if this was what it would end to.
Chago's little sloop was somewhere close to them; it was agreed they wouldn't lose sight of each other. Cass and Agustin, the gunner's mate recruited from the Spanish treasure ship, had spent a few days revising plans together, as Agustin was among those embarked on "Hermione"
for this specific mission. Cacica and a few other crewmates had been assigned to Chago's ship now too, to tempt more the prey.
For two months, since his halfsister had been abducted, his world had been turned upside down, but now everything seemed right way up again. He was aboard the “Rising Sun”
he loved, and finally they were going to pursue the damn slavers who kidnapped free girls. The crew was ready for another fight, with the hopes it would go well, and their anticipation filled the air.
Repairs had been completed, stores refilled, the ship outfitted and the crew strengthened with a few more pirates, including a new ship boy, who was going to become soon an adept powdermonkey. Cass would take care of this; this very afternoon the first gun drill of this expedition would happen.
The breeze tussled his wavy hair, while the sea softly rocked the “Rising Sun”
. Placing one hand on the gunwhale, he took a long last look at Basse Terre, then turned around and called out:"Diego, what kind of ship have you been on?"

Place: Basse Terre, Tortuga, in the tavern "The Buxom Wench"
Cass and Pieter were playing cards in a seedy tavern on the docks. Lately this was one of the main preoccupations of certain people of the "Rising Sun"
. These were mostly the newer ones or the ones who used to spend their time in the "Elixir d'Armagnac"
or in a certain brothel, not frequenting various taverns and being less known in other parts of the town - exactly the ones where the detractors might have raised their men from.
Given a few things the newer men had learnt in this tavern, Cass and Pieter had decided to go investigate by themselves and see if their diplomacy would bring them new information. Up to now, some drunk fishermen had told to Nardo and another that a man with a recent scar on the cheek had hired a shallop to bring them to Bahamas. Cass had an idea who this one might have been, and especially who made him the scar.
So they came, got to a table, Cass ordered a cup of coffee first, then they eyed two of the men who ressembled the ones described by Nardo and invited them to a game of cards. The fishermen and the dock workers who came here might have something new to tell them, and lips loosened during a game or more...

Tomorrow they were going to weigh anchors. The master gunner had supervised the loading of all ammunition needed, he had checked everything once more, again, then he returned to the inn with mixed thoughts. As usual, at this hour Maribel was busy with all the people gathered for dinner, for a drink, for a game of cards.
Unusual for him, Cass wasn't in the mood for taking other's money at cards. He took a seat at his favourite table, in the corner, from where he could see the whole main hall. Louie brought him a lemonade without having him ask. He wasn't sure what he had done to deserve the boy's admiration; Sol yes, he was actively preoccupying to teach him a thing or another (besides playing guitar). Cass, not exactly.
His thoughts were already at the so important expedition starting tomorrow. And, unlike the usual times, Maribel wasn't giving any good luck party tonight. The party had been ten days ago - Andrea's wedding with Honey (and Michaela's to her privateer, but Andrea was Cass's friend and he had been his best man too).
He was sipping absent-mindedly his lemonade.
