Michaela Elizabeth WickName:
Michaela Elizabeth WickAliases:
none; nee Michaela Elizabeth Morgan, then first married FouchetAge and birthday:
24 (March 30, 1696)Gender:
tavern maid at the Elixir D'ArmagnacCurrent Location:
Celine DionGeneral appearance:
Michaela is tall, with brown hair and eyes. Her hair is long and straight, and her features, despite her tallness, are petite, especially her hands. Robert, joking, used to call her "The Small Giant", because she was petite where other tall people would not necessarily be. Her skin is pale, but not disgustingly so, just more than most people's.Clothing:
Her dresses are cotton. She likes to wear many colors, but has stuck to wearing black right now since she is in mourning for her husband. Robert gave her many gifts, including some pearls, but she doesn't wear them now- it is too painful. Instead, she wears only a simple silver crucifix. Her shoes are serviceable, but also simple, just a pair of brown leather ones. She never let what wealth she had get to her head and doesn't plan to start now. Personality:
Michaela will do anything for anyone where Belle and her pirate friends are concerned, but she is understandably wary of anyone English, despite it being her own ancestry. Because of her husband being killed by the Navy, and her parents being wary of the privateers, the pirates are really the only people she feels safe with. Despite being generally brave, (brave enough to run away with a pirate and not care) she no longer feels safe being alone since Robert's death, and having no weapon skills does not help. However, Michaela is also very crafty, as evidenced by her plan to (supposedly) wed a French Navy man instead of a privateer. She is a good mother and would have loved a large family; besides Raphael, she adores Louie especially.
She likes to sew and read in the quiet times, being a special fan of poetry, especially the Catholic poetry her father taught her to read. She would sing if she were able, but too much grief due to love lost in her short life has silenced what singing voice she did have. She much prefers listening to Sol or Andrea, although their love songs make her sad now.Birth place:

Born in Kingston to middle-class parents, on the thirtieth of March, Michaela has pretty much always had to hide her Catholicism. In spite of this, she has always had a pretty normal life. As the youngest of three children, with parents and two older brothers who doted on her, Michaela wasn't exactly spoiled, but she did become rather used to getting what she wanted, as a youngest child might. It therefore came as quite a shock when, after learning that her betrothed, Raymond Wick, was to join the privateers, her parents broke the engagement, which lasted three years. on account of his not choosing the Navy, which they preferred because they thought he might be more safe there, and wanted security for their daughter. Both Michaela and Raymond were heartbroken, but life had to go on.
Michaela, realizing that like it or not, her parents ruled her life and would do so in all things up to and including her next engagement, buried her feelings about Raymond, being quite unsure how to deal with them if no one wanted to talk about it anyway. But it didn't mean she was happy. In 1713, she met Christien Delacroix, a young Frenchman who spoke English and was charming enough to win over both her and her parents. Once again, she fell deeply in love, even daring to consummate their passion. When she became pregnant, Christien proposed to her, but he was killed while at sea. She never found out he was a pirate.
When the French became allies with the English, Michaela saw a new opportunity. Not only might she win a Navy man, but she wouldn't have to hide her Catholicism! It seemed like the perfect arrangement, and indeed it might have been, but there was one little flaw in her plan. And his name was Robert Fouchet.
He was kind, protective, handsome, daring, and well-off enough...everything both Michaela and her parents wanted. He also adored Raphael, and adopted him after the marriage. But he didn't tell Michaela he was a pirate until after the wedding. She knew her parents would have a fit, but she didn't care, because she didn't have to hide her Catholicism anymore. And staying in Tortuga with little Raphael at her side has been the best...until Robert died.
Less than a month after his death, in August, 1719 , she went to the Elixir D'Armagnac in hope that the pirates would give her more details- she only knew that he had been hanged. She was afraid of being harassed in Kingston, where the pirates were executed, and because she had a son who was only 5 at the time, she did not want him to have to see his father's body, either. She has remained at the inn ever since. She even got Sol to teach her some basic knife and dagger training to better protect her son.
In September, on St. Mary's Day, while in Hispaniola for the feast, she ran into Raymond and his friend Neil, who rescued her from a lecherous English Navy sailor. Since then, she is in a more delicate state than before. Her grief for Robert is still acute, but the fact that she still has feelings for Raymond-and he for her- is refusing to be denied. Now, it remains to be seen what will come of those feelings.
For a while, she denied that she had feelings for him, but also her heart was broken when he joined the privateers, as her parents would have preferred a Navy man for her. She still had feelings for him, but was nervous that the pirates would hate her for courting a privateer. Ultimately, they got together, she got pregnant, and the wedding took place on 6-th of April 1720. Until her new husband succeeded to buy her a house, she is still living and working in the inn.
